Eugenia Harris
Eugenia “Jeanne” Harris passed away peacefully at home in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday morning, Nov. 9, 2008.
Jeanne was born April 7, 1933 in Dalhart, Texas, and married Dewey Harris of Lockhart in 1955. While Dewey served in Korea, Jeanne lived with his parents in Lockhart. After the war, Dewey’s work in animal genetics research took the family to Illinois, Can
ada, Indiana and Nebraska.
After Dewey’s death in 1997, Jeanne moved from Hastings to Pennsylvania to share a home with her son Todd and his family. In 2003 this extended family moved together to Arlington, Texas. After a long exile from her home state, Jeanne enjoyed her final years back in this dear state.
She is survived by her sons, Scott Harris, of Nice, France, Jeff Brooks-Harris, of Denton, and Todd Harris, of Arlington; brother Harry Scott, of Sarasota, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 5500 Mansfield Rd. in Arlington, with Pastor Elizabeth Johnson Pense officiating. A private burial followed at the Bateman Cemetery.
