Frank Rodriguez, Jr.


Mr. Frank Rodriguez, Jr. was called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to his Heavenly home on Feb. 3, 2016, at the age of 63. Frank was born on Feb. 1, 1953, in Lockhart, Texas. He was born to Francisco, Sr., and Gregoria Rodriguez.

Frank is survived by his wife, Paula Rodriguez; two sons, Rev. Francisco Rodriguez, III, of Round Rock, and Joey Mercado, of Lockhart; two dau

ghters, Corina (Mike) Peralez, of Georgetown, and Liz (Alfonso) Sifuentes of Lockhart.

Frank is also survived by seven brothers: Fidel Rodriguez, Joe G. (Gloria) Rodriguez, Larry (Hilda) Rodriguez, Vincent (Sylvia) Rodriguez, and Joe Phillip Rodriguez, all of Lockhart; Guadalupe (Jesusa) Rodriguez, of Austin, and Albert Daniel Rodriguez, of Clifton Park, N.Y.; four sisters, Lydia (Isidro, Jr.) Amaya, Nieves (Gregorio) Briceno and Veronica (Rick) Martinez, all of Lockhart; and Margaret Mendez, of Austin. Frank is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family received friends at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, Lockhart from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was commenced at 7 p.m. Holy Mass of a Catholic Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Lockhart.

Serving as pallbearers were Rosario Hernandez, Tony Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Jr., Joey Mercado, Joe Phillip Rodriguez, Vincent Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriguez and John Rodriguez.

Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was best known for his dedication in serving the Lord with music and song, His joy in his faith was displayed in the more than 20 years he committed to providing music for St Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a lifelong resident of Lockhart and was a dedicated Material Planner for Flextronics, Austin, for 44 years.

Frank was preceded in death by his father and mother, Francisco, Sr. and Gregoria Rodriguez.
