Geoffrey William Wills, Jr., entered into God’s eternal care on Feb.1, 2009, at 4:15 a.m. at his home in Austin.

Geoffrey was born in Lockhart on Aug. 14, 1944, to Geoffrey William Wills, Sr., and Mrs. Eva Mae Wills. At an early age, he united with Christ at St. Marks Methodist Church and remained an active member throughout his early years and young adult life. He

belonged to Macedonia First Baptist Church in Bastrop.

Geoffrey graduated from Carver High School in May 1962. Upon graduation, he attended Prairie View A&M University for one year and continued his college education at Southwest Texas University in San Marcos. He received a Vocational Industrial Education Teacher Certificate from Texas A&M University. Geoffrey was a vocational teacher for 16 years at Gary Job Corp Center in San Marcos. He was employed as a Commercial Operator with Kerrville Bus Company (now known as Coach USA). After 28 years of dedicated and faithful service, Geoffrey retired in October 2008.

He was preceded in death by his father, Geoffrey William Wills Sr.; sister, Alma Faye Wills Morgan; nephew, John Morgan III; and niece Thelma Renee Wills Foote.

Remembering his special laughter, and caring heart Geoffrey leaves his loving wife, Dorothy J. Wills; mother, Eva Mae Wills; sisters: Alice Outley (Freddie), Hattie Jewel Posey and Evelyn Murphy; brother, Richard (Anne); former wife, Estella Franks Elam, with whom he shared three children: Anthony Wills (Rhonda), DeLana Mangum (Rodney) and Christopher Wills; his grandchildren: Brandon, Maura, Austin, Joshua, Skylar and Dylan; mother-in-law, Sylvia J. Tarver; former mother-in-law, Thelma Franks; stepson, Darson J. Aldridge (Shauna); step-grandsons: Tyler Aldridge and Christopher Aldridge; nieces and nephews: Denise Massey, Carlotta Brown (Jesse), Lindsey Massey, Alexandria Wills, Richard Wills, Jr., Dr. Maury Wills, John Morgan IV, Jermaine Morgan and Jordan Thompson; life-long friend, Don Hawkins; and a host of other relatives and friends that are too numerous to name.

In the spirit of Christian joy, Geoffrey’s life was celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Providence Primitive Baptist Tabernacle in Cedar Creek, Texas. A Pre-Celebration Service was held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at King Tears Mortuary 1300 E. 12th St. in Austin, from 7 – 8 p.m. The graveside burial was at Hooks Cemetery in Lockhart.
