Gladys Niemann
Gladys Marie Germer was born in Maxwell, Texas on Dec. 23, 1928, and passed away on April 4, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hilda Germer; husbands, J.B. Harris and E.O. Niemann; and brothers, Bill Germer, Jr., and Leonard Germer.
She is survived by her sister, Dickie Rutherford; daughter and son-in-law Diane and David Pearce, of Carrollton, Texas;
daughter, Bonnie von Netzer, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren: Gary Pearce and wife, Kristin, Amie Bedgood and husband, Steven, Briget Barksdale and husband, John, and twins Natalie and Jordan von Netzer; seven great-grandchildren: Cody and Logan Pearce, Ross, Brooke and Paige Bedgood, and twins, Francesca and Sophia Barksdale; and nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation and condolences were planned at McCurdy Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 5 – 7 p.m. Services will be at First Lockhart Baptist Church Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10 a.m., with interment following at Lockhart City Cemetery.

Diane and Bonnie–I was so sorry to her about your Mom’s death when Pam called and told me. There are so many special memories of our neighborhood gatherings. Gladys was a sweet and special lady. Our prayers are with you.

Bonnie, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom….I know that she loved you and your family so very much….We all know that one day we will be faced with losing our parents but we block it out of our minds because we feel they should be with us forever….They are with us just in spirit once they leave this world….Cherish the memories because that is now all we have…one day you will be reunited with those that went before you….prayers of comfort in this time of grief…
Bonnie and family. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother. She was such a sweet lady and one of the great moms of the Nixon / Campbell Street neighborhood. May her spirit continue to live on through the lives of you and your children.
Dickie, Diane,Bonnie & families: I am greatly saddened to hear of y’alls loss.Growing up across the street, I have a lot of happy memories. “Aunt Gladys” was a very sweet lady and she will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace.
