Gregoria Rodriguez


Mrs. Gregoria Moreno Rodriguez was called by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to her home in Heaven on June 15, 2015, at the age of 86. She was born on Sept. 10, 1928, in McMahan, Texas, to Pedro Moreno and Virginia Adame.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Robert Moreno, Tomasa Mendez, Felis Garza and Francisca Contreras. She married the love of her life,

Francisco F. Rodriguez, on July 4, 1943. They were married 48 years until death parted them in March 1991.
She leaves behind daughters: Lydia (Isidro, Jr.) Amaya, Nieves (Gregorio) Briceno, and Veronica (Rick) Martinez all of Lockhart, and Margaret Mendez (Manuel-deceased), of Austin; sons: Fidel (Lupe-deceased), Frank (Paula), Joe G. (Gloria), Larry (Hilda), Vincent (Sylvia), and Joe P. (Alma) Rodriguez, all of Lockhart, Guadalupe (Jesusa) Rodriguez, of Austin, and Albert Daniel Rodriguez of Clifton Park, New York. She also leaves behind nine half brothers and sisters and numerous grandchildren, great-grand-children, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2015, with viewing from 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. at McCurdy’s funeral home, then moved to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 10 a.m., followed by Burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

    I remember you Gregoria. I attended school with your children, and I particularly remember Margaret, Lydia, Nieves, and Fidel. I remember you Gregoria – I remember you and I were picking cotton in the hot sun in the cotton fields near Lockhart. You worked so hard and at the end of the day we were all so exhausted. Now, may you rest in peace.
