Howard H. Lock, Jr.
Howard Harley Lock, Jr., went to see the Lord on Nov. 3, 2009 after a courageous battle against cancer for almost three years. He was born Aug. 6, 1940, to Howard Harley Lock Sr. and Jeanette Miller Lock, longtime residents of Lockhart and members of the First Lockhart Baptist Church.
Howard attended the Lockhart Public Schools where he participated in all sports. He
was also an inaugural member of Little League Baseball in Lockhart. He graduated from Lockhart High School in 1958. He then attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of

Later, he worked as an independent contractor in a variety of construction projects in the oil and gas industry in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Aruba, San Lucias, Afghanistan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Howard was also actively breeding and raising Brangus cattle all his adult life.
His happiest and proudest moment, however, was marrying his wife, the former Pat Wissen, and becoming a dad to Brian, Brent and Brandon Cunningham.
Howard was a lifelong member of the First Lockhart Baptist Church and the Adult’s Sunday School class which were always an important part of his life.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Gene Lock, formerly of Lockhart, and by his grandparents Carrie and Gold Lock, formerly of Bastrop, Texas.
