Independent film shooting in Lockhart

Independent movie lovers get ready for another movie set in Lockhart, where California-based Urban Wolf Productions” started filming “The Garage” this past Monday.

Set in the northeastern part of the states in 1977, the movie is about the coming of age of two best friends, Matt an

d Schultz. “They try to get out and make something of themselves,” says Blair Miller, production coordinator. In their bouts to leave the town, the boys face obstacles that evoke further thought into their situations.

The movie is written and directed by Carl Thibault and co-produced by Thibault and Joshua J. Smith, who started his career in Austin.

The movie stars upcoming actor Gabriel Marantz and features actors James Intveld (That Thing Called Love), Bill McKinney (Deliverance, Outlaw Josey Wales), Peter Greene (Pulp Fiction) and Robert Knot (Pollock). Austin”s own Corby Griesendeck will also be in the movie.

Filming will continue for three weeks until they wrap up on Nov. 7. The movie will also be shot in for a day in Martindale and a day in Uhland.
