Jesus Zavala Parra of Lockhart, Texas, was called home by our Heavenly Father on March 25, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Martindale, Texas to Thomas and Ramona Parra, Sr.
He served as a Private First Class in the US Army during the Korean War. He lived in Lockhart for most of his life and worked as an auto mechanic at Glosserm

an Chevrolet for 35 years where his passion was working on cars. He enjoyed tinkering around in the backyard, taking pictures, playing music and playing outside with his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Catalina Juarez, Dolores Castillo, Antonio Parra, Sr. and Margarito Parra.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Gallegos Parra; his eldest son, Stephen Parra and spouse, Bertha, and his youngest son, Jesse Parra, Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Adrianna, KD, Monica, Audrey, Nikolas, Gabriela and Cash; great-grandchildren, Mya and Michael; four brothers: Frank, Juan, Thomas Jr. and Henry and including a large, loving and extended family.
Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 5 – 9 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.  A Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart, followed by burial at Memory Lawn in Martindale, Texas.
