Labor Day 2011 Fires – How can you help?
Now that the Caldwell County fires are all but extinguished and all eyes are turned to helping, please not the following donation locations and drop-off points:
First Lockhart National Bank: Salvation Army Wildfire Victims of Caldwell County account. All tellers at the lobby and drive-thru locations can help you make a donation. Donation
s will focus on Caldwell County Victims.
Austin Telco Federal Credit Union: Donations can be made by visiting any Austin Telco location, including the Lockhart location. Funds will be distributed to Central Texans in need.

Prairie Lea – accepting donations of water, Gatorade and protein snacks for firefighters; non-perishable food items, diapers, baby wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other personal items for victims and firefighters first in Caldwell County, and then in Bastrop. **NO CLOTHING, PLEASE**
Little Caesar”s Pizza: accepting donations of water, Gatorade and protein snacks for firefighters; non-perishable food items, diapers, baby wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other personal items which are being delivered daily to Smithville. **NO CLOTHING, PLEASE**
Tuttle Lumber: accepting donations of water, Gatorade and protein snacks for firefighters; non-perishable food items, diapers, baby wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other personal items for victims and firefighters in Bastrop County and elsewhere in Central Texas. **NO CLOTHING, PLEASE**
Hometown Cinema: accepting donations of water, Gatorade and protein snacks for firefighters; non-perishable food items, diapers, baby wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other personal items for victims and firefighters first in Caldwell County, and then in Bastrop. **NO CLOTHING, PLEASE**
CNC Rescue, Inc.: This non-profit animal rescue group will have a donation center all day Friday in front of Wal-Mart to accept donations of food, toiletries, clothing, towels, bedding and anything you would like to give the people of Bastrop who have lost their homes. These items will be given to the Sheriff’s department in Bastrop for distribution. They will also accept donations of dog and cat food, kitty litter, leashes, toys, dog beds and other animal supplies.
Reports from all donation centers in Caldwell and Bastrop Counties have indicated that at this time, they have all the clothing they need. Those wishing to make donations are asked to consider other donations, including personal hygiene items, water, gatorade and protein snacks for firefighters.
