Lady Lions fall to Hays in Friday night home matchup

The Lockhart Lady Lions hosted the Hays Hawks on Friday night, facing a tough challenge from the start. The Hawks came out strong, jumping to an early 18-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Despite the slow start, the Lady Lions fought to find their rhythm, closing the second quarter with a score of 9-36.
Lockhart continued to chip away in the third quarter, adding 9 more points, but Hays maintained control, leading 47-18 going into the final period. The game concluded with the Hawks defeating the Lady Lions 59-28.
Peyton Johnson led the Lady Lions with 16 points, while Mia Lewis added 3 points. Beah St. Leger, Ava Meitler, and Marissa Sosa each contributed 2 points.
Though the scoreboard didn’t reflect the effort, the Lady Lions showed determination and perseverance against a strong Hays team.
