Lady Lions ravage Lady Cardinals

The Lady Lions hosted the Del Valle Lady Cardinals on Tuesday evening, Oct. 11, at the Lions” Den.
It was a successful night for the Lady Lions as they stole the victory in three games, 25-18, 25-13, 25-15.
Contributing points for Lockhart was Ashley Moore and Mariah Carter with three aces each. On the net, Kelly Witte completed 12 kills with Krystal Lawson serv

ing up 15 assists.
Defensively, Witte hustled to the ball making six digs.

Lady Lions vs. Vista Ridge
The Lady Lion volleyball team traveled to Vista Ridge Friday evening, Oct. 7, to match up against the Lady Rangers, the district”s leaders.
Lockhart hustled to every loose ball and fought hard, but wasn”t strong enough to defeat the Lady Rangers. The Lady Lions lost the match in three games, 11-25, 23-25 and 11-25.
Offensively, leading the Lady Lions was Carter and Camille Clay with five kills each. Witte contributed 11 assists. Points were added to the scoreboard with aces made by Witte, Brianna Hinnenkamp and Moore with two each.
Defensively, Carter completed the only block of the match, and hustling to the ball was Witte with seven digs and Carter with three.
The Lockhart freshman “A” & “B” teams met Vista Ridge on the court before the varsity team. The freshman “A” team lost 22-25 and 11-25. The “B” team played three games falling short 25-20, 17-25, and 13-25.
The Lady Lions will travel to Connally High School for a match against the Lady Cougars on Friday, Oct. 14. They will host Taylor at the Lions” Den the following Tuesday, Oct. 18. Game times are 5, 6, and 7 p.m.
