Lady Lions start season strong

Varsity Volleyball

The Lady Lions finished third in the Floresville Jaguar Tournament!

Lockhart defeated Fox Tech, (25-7) and (25-8), Laredo United, (25-23) and (25-17), and Providence in the third place match, (25-16) and (25-20).

The Lady Lions fell in two to Floresville, (13-25) and (14-25).

The Lady Lions hosted the Canyon Lake Hawks last week.

Lockhart fell in three sets, (12-25), (17-25) and (20-25), despite their efforts and the improvement they showed with each set.

Match leaders were Sydney Johnson with three aces; Macy Riddle with seven kills, two and a half blocks and 13 digs; and Alexandra Howard with 11 assists and six kills. Cassidy Schmidt logged six kills and eight assists, while Randa Homann had 13 digs.

JV Lady Lions

Last Tuesday, the Lady Lion JV Team won a three-game thriller against Canyon Lake. Lockhart easily won game one with the score of 25-18. Canyon Lake evened out the match in set two by winning 25-19.

In game three the Lady Lions were down 8-14 before storming back to secure a 25-19 win.

Marissa Rios and Destinee Brown led in aces with four apiece. Brown also recorded six blocks. Jordan Hipolito had 10 kills and 11 assists, and Ileana Gonzales had seven digs.

Freshman Volleyball

The Freshman Lady Lions did it again!

Coming back from a tough loss last week, the ninth grade girls took the court with determination and focus, taking the win against the Gonzales Apaches in only two matches, (25-15) and (25-14).
