Larry Vickery

Larry Wayne Vickery, 69, of Red Rock, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 26, 2009. He was born on Nov. 2, 1939 in Dale, Texas, to Alton E. Vickery and Emma Lovell Vickery. He was a member of the Dale Church of Christ.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; aunts, Avis Ilene Lovell and Ora Timmerman; uncle: James Lovell; brothers, Eldon Ray Vic

kery, Sr., and Charles Ross Vickery; cousin, Donnie Timmerman; and sister-in-law, Florence Vickery.

He is survived by his nephews: Eldon Ray Vickery, Jr., and wife, Melissa, of Red Rock, and Buddy Vickery and Russell Vickery of Maxwell; niece, Debra Kyle, of Part Lavaca; uncle, Wesley Timmerman, of Victoria; sister-in-law, Dorothy Vickery, of Port Lavaca; cousin, Tommy Timmerman and wife, Nancy, of Victoria; and numerous great nephews and nieces.

Larry enjoyed working on the farm plowing, cutting, raking and baling hay, when he could. He enjoyed tinkering with the lawnmowers and other equipment always trying to find a way to make a task easier for himself or his aunt.

Visitation was held on Aug. 28, 2009, at McCurdy Funeral Home. Graveside services were held on Aug. 29, 2009, at 1:30 p.m., at Liberty Cemetery in Dale.

Pallbearers were Shawn Scott, Buddy Vickery, Russell Vickery, Norman Tucker, Tommy Tucker and Debra Kyle.
