Letters – Reader supports hometown recycling options

To the Editor:
I am writing to express that I truly hope that Lockhart does begin a recycling program. It is very much past due.

I grew up in Lockhart and my family still lives there. Illnois is now my home but I never forget to read my weekly paper online.

Really everyone is concerned with “money” and how will things get paid for but this is someth

ing that the city should do for its community.

When I visit Lockhart, I am amazed at how much garbage has to be picked up and just out of habit I began to recycle at my parents home but am quickly reminded that the city does not provide that service. My town was litte when I moved out. There were no McDonalds, Taco Bell, movie theatre(newer one)Whataburger etc…

Just think of all the garbage these restaurants throw away and again what can be recycled.

So come on Lockhart, let’s get with the program and do something that good for your town and be proud of.
Good luck!
Sincerely,
Lydia Martinez Massion
Algonquin, Ill.
