Lion lifters qualify for Regionals

The Lockhart Lion and Lady Lion powerlifting teams traveled to Del Valle on Saturday, Feb. 26, for the Regional Qualifying Meet.
Both teams did exceptionally well in their competition. The girls have three lifters and an alternate moving up to the Regional Meet, and the boys have six lifters going to Regionals.
The Regional Meet will be held in Lampasas on Frida

y, March 4, and Saturday, March 5.
Qualifying for the boys are Gabriel Amaya, Mark Shelton, Travis Grogan, Ryan Lockhart, Justin Winegarner, and Joe Woodworth.
Qualifying for the girls are Ashley Castillo, Laura Villareal, Elizabeth Ellis and Kourtney Murphy as an alternate.
“I’m very proud of our athletes and all of their hard work,” said Coach Darrell Brock. “They have all worked hard to get to Regionals.”
