Lockhart vs. Taylor

The Lockhart Lions” freshman basketball team came up short in a even matched game against the Taylor Ducks on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
After one period of play Taylor held a small lead, 12-18, over Lockhart. During second period, the Lions outscored the Ducks, 11-9, going into halftime with a 21-19 advantage.

d period, Lockhart made a run to tie the game, 37-37. The Ducks scored six quick points and held on for the victory, 55-50, in a great contest.
Scoring for the Lions were Ryan Carrasco 16 with points, Casey Butler with 11 points, Jonathan Gonzales with eight points, Gerald Cuellar with five points, Jeremiah Johnson with four points, James Mendez with three points, Shane Sellers with two points and Demetrius Joseph with one point.

Lockhart vs. Pflugerville Hendrickson
48-65 Hendrickson

The Lockhart freshman basketball team did their best, however, they couldn”t hold back the good Hendrickson freshman team on Friday, Jan. 14.
The Lions were down 26-8 after one period of play. Lockhart didn”t back down as they roared back during the second period, out scoring the Hawks 17-7. After the second period, the Lions had cut the lead the Hawks had over them, 25-33.
The Lions roared again during the third period outscoring the Hawks 14-10, ending the quarter with 39-43 on the scoreboard. Lockhart came close but couldn”t stop the talented Hendrickson team during the last period, losing a hard-fought game, 48-65.
Scoring for the Lions were Bre Dones with 12 points, Ryan Carrasco with 10 points, Casey Butler with 10 points, Jonathan Gonzales with five points, Jeremiah Johnson with five points, James Mendez with four points, and Demetrius Joseph with two points.
