Lockhart is coming off an open date and the lines will face a schedule with a combined 14-5 record in the district in the remaining four games, starting Friday night at home with powerful Pflugerville Weiss.

Weiss pummeled Hays, 63-13, last week. The Wolves are now 6-1 overall, 4-1 in district play.

Lockhart is technically tied for the fourth position in District 12, which would qualify the Lions for the playoffs. However, there is no room for error the rest of the way and it seems to be a giant task

Even Lockhart’s non-district opponents are having strong seasons.

Victoria West is 6-1 overall after losing last week at Alamo Heights.

San Antonio Southwest is undefeated at 6-0.

Within the Lions’ district, the top tier is loaded, with A&M Consolidated, Weiss, and College Station combining for just two losses, and both of those have been Weiss and College Station losing to A&M Consolidated. College Station visits Weiss Oct. 31 in what appears to be for the No. 2 seed in the district.

Meanwhile, the bottom feeders in the district have been mauled. Lehman has been outscored 338-14 in 5 district games and 398-20 on the season.

Cedar Creek is 0-6 and has been outscored 202-10 in the district while going 0-4.

The winless Lobos and Eagles will meet Nov. 1 at Cedar Creek.
