LISD names Balandran as Director of Maintenance

Lockhart, TX – Lockhart ISD is proud to announce Jeff Balandran as the district’s new Director of Maintenance.

Born and raised in Lockhart, Balandran is a lifelong resident and graduate of Lockhart High School. His ties to the district run deep, as his wife of 27 years and their three daughters also attended Lockhart ISD. He began his career with the district in 2002 as an HVAC technician, later earning his HVAC contractor license and serving as lead HVAC technician. Over 23 years, he has earned a reputation for excellence, loyalty, and a true LockHeart for people.

“I’ve been fortunate to spend 23 great years with the district,” said Balandran. “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the community as Director of Maintenance. As our town continues to grow, I look forward to the challenges that this growth presents, and I will continue to do my best to lead our department with dedication as we move into the future.”

Superintendent Mark Estrada said Balandran’s leadership reflects the district’s mission of unlocking potential. “Jeff consistently demonstrates being locked on excellence through his commitment to high standards, attention to detail, and relentless pursuit of improvement within the maintenance department. Over the past few years, he has intentionally developed his executive leadership skills and taken on expanded responsibilities, positioning himself as a strong and well-prepared leader for the Director of Maintenance role,” said Estrada. “His work ethic, loyalty, and steady leadership have been a cornerstone of our district’s operations for more than two decades, and his commitment ensures our schools remain safe, functional, and ready for growth.”

He is dependable, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about people, all qualities that make him an excellent leader for our Maintenance Department.” said Executive Director of Operations James Acuna. “We are fortunate to have someone with his experience and heart guiding this important work.”
