Get ready to raise your steins and don your lederhosen because the heart of downtown Lockhart is about to come alive with the vibrant atmosphere of Oktoberfest.

The launch of the first annual downtown Locktoberfest event is set to take place in participating shops, bars, and restaurants from Friday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 8.
This exciting weekend is an extension of Best Little Wine & Books’ two-week Oktoberfest pop-up (first hosted in 2022) in collaboration with the Lockhart Downtown Business Association and their downtown neighbors.

Locktoberfest will capture the essence of the world-famous Oktoberfest celebrations, combining traditional Bavarian culture with a local twist. Attendees can expect a weekend filled with music, authentic German cuisine, an array of finely crafted imported and domestic Oktoberfest beers, German wine, de-alcoholized beverages, and shopping that will transport them to the
lively streets of Munich.
Event Highlights:
* Authentic Bavarian Experience: Immerse yourself in the rich traditions of
Oktoberfest as Best Little Wine & Books turns into the Best Little Bavarian fest ground. From décor to entertainment, every element has been curated to provide an authentic experience.
* Live Music and Entertainment: Dance to the rhythm of classic German polka performed by local artists such as a vinyl DJ set by Plum Creek Records, Bring Your Own Vinyl Lockhart, and live music by Alley Grass (featuring Jen Hodges).
* Delectable German Delicacies: Savor the flavors of Germany with mouthwatering fest foods in participating restaurants throughout downtown: from homemade bratwurst by The Sausage Kings of Lockhart (Forrest Allen and Matthew Bromley), pretzels and beer cheese, German-themed pizza, to schnitzel and sauerkraut.
* Steinholding Competitions: Put your arm strength to the test in the traditional
Masskrugstemmen (steinholding) competition.
”We are excited to bring the spirit of Oktoberfest to our downtown for the first time,” said
Sally Daniel, President of the Lockhart Downtown Business Association. “This event is a

celebration of community, culture, and togetherness, and we can’t wait to share this
experience with everyone.”
The inaugural downtown Locktoberfest event promises to be a festive and memorable
occasion that celebrates tradition within the downtown community.
