Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucille Porter Enis, was called home to her heavenly Father on Monday Feb. 17, 2014 in New Braunfels, Texas.  She was born on Sept. 26, 1923 in Mineral Wells, Texas, to John Duncan Porter Jr. and Neva Miles Porter as one of nine children.

As a teenager, Lucy graduated from the original Austin Hi

gh School before continuing her education at the University of Texas where she excelled in sports such as golf, softball, and archery.

While at UT, the gorgeous co-ed was introduced to a very handsome Navy man named Troy Enis. The two were married on July 20, 1946, in the very hot University Baptist church in Austin. In August of, she earned her master’s degree in Education from the University of Texas.  The couple moved to Lockhart in 1999, where she lived until 2008 when she joined Troy in the Eden Hill home and spent the rest of their blessed days together.

Preceding her in death include her husband of 63 years, her parents, and the majority of her siblings.

She is survived by her children: Laurie Paxson, Lonnie and Judy Enis, and Lana and Conrad Gatti; her grandchildren: Jacob and Marysa Enis, Stanton and Jenny Lawson, Samuel and Lauren Enis, Troy Lawson, and Alana and Garrett Lively; and her great-grandchildren: Nathaniel and Evan Enis and Elliana Lively.

A memorial service was held at First Lockhart Baptist Church on Saturday Feb. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m.
