Lucille Martha Taylor Lackey

Lucille Martha Taylor Lackey, 84, of Lockhart, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005 in Lockhart, Texas. She was born on March 28, 1921 in Taylorsville, Texas to Loy Taylor and Josie Bradbury Taylor. She attended Elm Grove Country School and Luling High School. She married Valon Lackey in September 1940 and was a member of the Lockhart Church of Christ.
She was preceded

in death by her parents; husband, Valon Lackey on Sept. 17, 1986; sister, Hazel Faye Evans in 1992; daughter, Daphane Lackey on Sept. 12, 2002; and son, Donald Ray Lackey on Aug. 30, 2004.
Lucille is survived by her son, Vernon Lackey of Lockhart; sisters, Opal Taylor Mennella of Georgetown, Betty Allen of Dale, Peggy Taylor Huggins of Brenham and Patsy Faye Gillis of Lockhart; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 20, 2005 at McCurdy Funeral Home, Lockhart. Services were held at 9 a.m., May 21, 2005 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at the Bunton Cemetery in Dale, Robert Hailey, officiating.
