Maria Elida Olivares Reboller

    Con profunda tristeza, la familia de Maria Elida Olivares Rebollar anuncia su fallecimiento el martes 22 de septiembre de 2026, en Houston, Texas, a los 63 años de edad. Partió de este mundo rodeada del amor de su familia, que la acompañó hasta el final.

     Maria Elida fue una mujer alegre y fuerte. Madre soltera sin estudios formales, sostuvo a su familia con un trabajo incansable: limpiaba casas, lavaba ropa ajena, cuidaba niños y hacía tamales. Fue trabajadora de principio a fin, y en cada oficio dejó la marca de su dignidad y de su amor por los suyos.

     Le gustaba la limpieza y el orden. Tejía y remendaba con paciencia. Cuidaba sus plantitas y se le daba bien la jardinería. Le encantaba la música y, sobre todo, bailar — especialmente las quebraditas y el zapateado. Disfrutaba sus novelas, sus juegos en el teléfono, usar joyas y preparar comida: sus buñuelos, sus habas y, entre sus antojos, la comida china. En la casa, en la cocina y en la pista, Maria Elida se hacía presente con alegría.

     Su vida fue un testimonio de fortaleza: crió a sus hijos con poco y les dio mucho. Quienes la conocieron recuerdan su risa, su arreglo personal, sus manos siempre ocupadas y el ritmo con el que enfrentaba los días.

     Le sobreviven su madre, Gudelia Rebollar Jaimes; sus hijas Maria Cristina, Gloria y Minerva Elizabeth; sus hijos Antonio y Jose Luis; sus hermanos Lino, Francisco, Pedro, Jose Victor y Valentin; sus hermanas Constancia, Maria Esbeydi y Norberta; dieciséis nietos y tres bisnietos.

     Le precedieron en la muerte su hermana Gudelia y su hermano Jesús Isaac.

La familia recibirá visitas el lunes 28 de septiembre de 2026 en la residencia familiar. La misa exequial se celebrará a la 1:00 p.m. martes 29 de septiembre de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica Santa María de la Visitación. El sepelio se realizará a continuación en el Cementerio San Pablo.

      It is with deep sadness that the family of Maria Elida Olivares Rebollar announces her passing on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 63. She departed this world surrounded by the love of her family, who remained by her side until the very end.

    Maria Elida was a joyful and strong woman. A single mother with no formal education, she supported her family through tireless work: cleaning houses, doing laundry for others, babysitting, and making tamales. She was a hard worker through and through, leaving a mark of dignity and love for her family in every task she undertook.

   She valued cleanliness and order. She knitted and mended with patience. She tended to her plants and had a knack for gardening. She loved music and, above all, dancing—especially the *quebradita* and *zapateado*. She enjoyed her soap operas, playing games on her phone, wearing jewelry, and cooking—particularly her *buñuelos* and fava beans—as well as indulging in her favorite treat: Chinese food. Whether at home, in the kitchen, or on the dance floor, Maria Elida brought joy wherever she went.

     Her life was a testament to resilience: she raised her children with little yet gave them so much. Those who knew her remember her laughter, her well-groomed appearance, her ever-busy hands, and the rhythm with which she faced each day.

     She is survived by her mother, Gudelia Rebollar Jaimes; her daughters Maria Cristina, Gloria, and Minerva Elizabeth; her sons Antonio and Jose Luis; her brothers Lino, Francisco, Pedro, Jose Victor, and Valentin; her sisters Constancia, Maria Esbeydi, and Norberta; sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her sister Gudelia and her brother Jesús Isaac.

     The family will receive visitors on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the family home. The funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
