Maria Torres

Maria Torres, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother of Hunter, Texas, went peacefully to her eternal rest to be with our Heavenly Father on Sept. 25, 2005 at the age of 89.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Antonio Torres; sons, Amador and John Torres; grandson, John Anthony Torres; and brother, Cruz Llamas.
She

is survived by her sons, Torribo Torres of San Marcos, Victor Torres of Austin, Joe R. Torres of New Braunfels, Dr. David Torres of San Angelo and Charles Torres of Lockhart; daughters Maria Gallegos of New Braunfels, Hope Weidman of San Marcos, Josie Amaro of Canyon Lake, Matilda Gil, Linda Villarreal and Liz Mercado, all of New Braunfels; brothers Aldistado Llamas and Bernabe Llamas of California; sisters Maria Gallegos and Cruz Gallegos, both of San Marcos; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Recitation of rosary was on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home in San Marcos, Texas. Mass of Christian burial was Wednesday morning, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. John”s Catholic Mission in Hunter, Texas, with Rev. Eugene Ronan officiating. Interment followed in the San Pedro Cemetery in San Marcos.
Serving as pallbearers were Joe Torres, Charles Torres, Javier Torres, Dr. David Torres, Frank Torres and Gabriel Gil.
