Marylou G. (Harrell) Rogas, of Lockhart, was born on Nov. 15, 1927 in Osseo, Mich. and died on Oct. 21, 2015 in Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Luling, Texas.

Marylou was a member of McMahan Baptist Church; a Leader of the first integrated Girl Scout Troop in Lockhart; an accomplished bookkeeper for several companies in the area; assisted in the formation of Polonia Water

Supply Company; and a bus driver for Durham Transportation before retiring.

Marylou is survived by her husband of 58 years, Melvin “Mel” Rogas; son, Lee Rogas of Edina, Minn.; daughter, Diane Wilson (Ben) of The Colony, Texas; two grandsons, Edward L. Wilson, of Paramaribo, Suriname, South America, and Chad Wilson (Courtney), of Allen, Texas; and three great-grandchildren: Tryisten Wilson, of Marysville, Calif., Cheyenne Wilson and Chase Wilson, of Allen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Michigan.

The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at 1 p.m., at McMahan Baptist Church.  The Family requests lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to McMahan Baptist Church Building Fund, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the Daughters of the Nile Foundation in memory of Marylou.
