Mercedes Gomez

Mrs. Mercedes Gomez was born Aug. 17, 1948, in La Piedad Michoacan, Mexico, and died Sept. 1, 2010.

Mercedes was a devoted mother of Blanca (Ruben), Fernando (Michelle), Felipe (Yesenia), Maria, Antonio (Rachel) and Victor Gomez (deceased). She was employed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a dedicated employee for more than eight years. She never shied from an

y duties at the church.

She is survived by her sister, Carmen Castaneda; mother, Luz Ceja de Padilla; and brothers, Rafael Padilla and Salvador Padilla. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and longtime friend, Ruben Hernandez.

Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at the DeLeon Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial was held at Lockhart City Cemetery.
