Miguel Tello

September 29, 1946-March 28, 2025
It is with hearts full of love and celebration that we share the life of Mr. Miguel Tello, who danced his way into eternity on March 28, 2025, surrounded by the warm embrace of his cherished family in Lockhart, Texas. Born on September 29, 1946, to Andres and Luisa Tello, Miguel grew up in the heart of Lockhart, a town he never stopped calling home. At 78 years young, he left behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and an unshakable devotion to those he held dear.
Miguel was the kind of man who lit up every room with his generous spirit and hearty laugh. A devoted husband to Gloria A. Tello, a proud father to Michelle, Christopher Michael, and Angela Marie, and a doting grandfather and great-grandfather to a beautiful brood, he poured his heart into his family. His children, grandchildren—Christopher Jr., Ryan, Nicholas Miguel, Alexander, and Alyssa Marie—and great-grandchildren—Elijah Miguel, Adrian Roy Marquez, and Sofia Marie—were the stars in his sky, and he loved them with every fiber of his being.
A friend to all, Miguel’s name was spoken with admiration and affection by everyone who knew him. He had a gift for bringing people together, whether over a sizzling barbecue or a perfectly fried fish fresh from his latest fishing adventure. A hunter and fisherman at heart, he found peace in the great outdoors, and his tales of the wild were as legendary as his warm, welcoming smile. If you needed help, Miguel was there—ready to give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. His selflessness was a quiet strength that touched countless lives.
At just 18, Miguel answered the call to serve his country in the Army, a testament to his courage and sense of duty. Later, he spent a lifetime behind the wheel as a truck driver, crisscrossing roads with the same steady determination that defined him. But no matter where the highways took him, his heart always returned to his family, his roots, and the simple joys of life.
Miguel is preceded in death by his father and mother, Andres Tello and Luisa Tello, siblings Pete Tello, Paul Tello, and Herminia Tello Hernandez and welcomed into eternity by the love that surrounds him still.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gloria; his children, Michelle, Christopher, and Angela; his siblings, Ramona Serrato, and Andrew Tello Jr.; and a constellation of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his light forward, Christopher Michael Tello, Jr., Ryan Tello, Nicholas Miguel Tello, Alexander Tello, Alyssa Marie Tello, Elijah Miguel Tello, Adrian Roy Marquez, and Sofia Marie Tello.
Though we feel the ache of his absence, Miguel’s memory is a treasure we hold close—a melody of laughter, love, and the smoky scent of barbecue on a warm Texas evening.
Recitation of the holy rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the DeLeon Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ramiro Tarazona Jerez officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
He will be missed dearly, but his spirit lives on in every fish caught, every story shared, and every heart he touched. Here’s to you, Miguel Tello—a life well-lived, a love well-given, and a legacy that will never fade.
