Minnie Ella Homann-Petrosky, 85, of Lockhart, flew to Heaven to be with her Maker on May 25, 2015.  She was born on Feb. 1, 1930, in Mendoza, Texas, to Gus Carl Homann and Freida (Band) Homann. She was one of ten children. She attended school in Mendoza, and later attended Lockhart High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Leonard C. Petrosky; bro

thers:  Ernest Homann, Edwin Homann, Fritz Homann, Max Homann, Gus C. Homann, Jr., and Emil Homann; sisters: Freida Homann-Shirley and Melinda Homann-Petrosky; and many loving sisters- and brothers-in-law.
She was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and aunt.  She was also known as “Mima” to many children who were not her own children, but whom she loved just as much.
She was a very giving and caring person.  She was always there to help family, neighbors, friends and even strangers.  She was a long-time member of the Niederwald United Church of Christ.  She was a homemaker, but also during the early years of the City of Lockhart prior to the Police Department having a paid dispatch position, she was the dispatcher.  She would track down her husband who was chief of police to send him where he was needed.  Many times she would have to drive around town to find him as they did not have police radios.
She also loved to play sports when she was in school.  Later in life when she could no longer play she loved to watch sports on television.  She always made efforts to ensure her family was taken care of and that they knew how much she loved them.  She was an amazing caring woman and will be forever loved and missed.
She is survived by one brother,  Henry Homann and wife, Gladys; daughter, Carol Diane Odell and husband, Marvin Wayne Odell; son,  Wayne Lee Petrosky; daughter, Diana Lynn Arrington and husband Troy Arrington; grandchildren:  Sheri Renae Harper and husband, Tim Harper, Rabecca Christie and fiancé, Zac Archer, and Alyssa Arrington; great-grandchildren, Tim Harper, Jr., and wife, Julia, and Ashley Harper; great-great-granddaughter, Haylie Nicole Harper; and many loving nieces and nephews and friends.
The family will receive visitors at McCurdy Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at McCurdy Funeral Home, with burial following to Lockhart City Cemetery.
