Janice Lynn Beeson Hammon of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2015. She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Lovelady, Texas, to H.W. and Nova Dene Beeson.
She moved to Lockhart when she was 11 years old. Her parents owned Beeson’s Radiator Service in Lockhart. Her family was faithful members of First Lockhart Baptist Church for many years. She graduated from Lo

ckhart High School in 1953 and attended Mary Hardin Baylor. She met her future husband, Gary Hammon on a blind date while in college; he was in the Army at Fort Hood in Killeen. Janice and Gary were married at First Lockhart Baptist Church in 1955. They had three loving children and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next month.

Later, after moving to San Antonio, with her husband she was a prayer warrior in the Prayer Room at Trinity Baptist Church; served missionaries during a mission trip to Prague; and volunteered at 4th Street Café (run by First Baptist Church).
She loved family and friends, and enjoyed life. Whether it was creating birthday celebrations, cooking delicious meals, decorating her home, hosting parties, sewing, learning to water ski in her late 30’s, helping her grown children in any capacity or enjoying activities with her grand kids, she made life more fun.
She enjoyed her career which included: Secretary for Navion Aircraft in Galveston as well as one of their models; Secretary for a Representative at the Austin State Capital for a couple of sessions; worked for Lewis Timberlake at Decision Dynamics, he was a wonderful speaker; Membership Officer for Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT), where she met some of her closest friends; Executive Secretary for the President at Satelco.
