Nancy Stoffel
Nancy Stoffel died Nov. 22, 2007, in Seguin, of complications from Parkinson”s disease. Nancy was born on Oct. 21, 1936, in Fentress, Texas, the daughter of Albert H. and Maymie Lois (Pyland) Munk.
She grew up in Fentress and graduated from Prairie Lea High School in 1955, remaining in Texas until 1970, when she moved to Virginia Beach, Va. In 1978, she met her husband
Mike Stoffel, then a Captain in the U.S. Navy, and the two were wed in June 1979.
After Mike”s retirement, the couple lived in Frederick, Md., Omaha, Neb., and Lincoln, Neb., before returning to Texas in 1989.
Nancy was active in the antique business for several years attending shows in the near-Texas area and conducting many estate sales in the Seguin area. She was active in church activities and was a long-time member of the Sharer”s Sunday school. She also worked at the Seguin Christian Cupboard, an organization that she chaired for several years until ill health forced her retirement. In all of these endeavors, Nancy”s smile and pleasant personality made her a valued and effective member.
Friends and family will remember her as an accomplished pianist, a gifted cook, and inspired interior decorator.
She is survived by her husband Mike; two sisters, Patsy Ann Kimball of Fentress and Jo Carolyn Ritzman of Clifton, Texas; three children of a previous marriage: Albert B. Cain and Debbie L. (Cain) Edwards, both of Virginia Beach, Va., and David Allen Cain of Plano, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five step-children and eight step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Michael P. Cain.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Seguin First United Methodist Church, 710 North Austin St.
