County Judge HT Wright announced on Monday just before 10 a.m. that the outdoor burning ban in Caldwell County has been lifted.
The decision comes along with announcements from the Texas Forest Service that Caldwell County falls within the “low to moderate” range for wildfire risk for both today, and for the near future.
While it is now legal for Caldwell County residents to burn trash and brush outdoors, it remains recommended that people use extreme caution when burning. Months of dry weather have left a significant amount of dry brush and grasses as “fuel,” which could ignite and spark a wildfire at any time.
