Pedro “Pete” R. Rangel

Mr. Pedro “Pete” R. Rangel, 79, of Lockhart, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005.
Mr. Rangel was preceded in death by his parents, Refugio Magallanez Rangel and Margarita Rocha Rangel.
He is survived by his wife, Esperanza Rangel; daughter, Magdalena Rangel-Berrum and husband, Edmundo Berrum; son, Daniel M. Rangel and wife, Dianna M. Rangel; seven grandchildren,

Army PFC Cory Tijerina, Scotty Tijerina, Graciela Ojeda, Refugio Rangel, Ramiro Rangel, Joe Angel Rangel and Lourdes Guadarrama; brothers and sisters, Martin R. Rangel and wife, Rosa Rangel, Erasmo R. Rangel and wife, Elmira Rangel, Maria R. Perez and husband, Rigoberto Perez, and Margaret R. Montana and husband, Arthur Montana. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
Mr. Rangel”s career included 15 years with the Kerrville Bus Company and 25 years with Omni Bank (previously known as Lockhart State Bank). He loved to play pool, garden, watching sports on television and to fish.
Recitation of the rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at the DeLeon Funeral Home. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Burial followed in Community Cemetery in Luling.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Chisolm Trail Nursing Home for their exceptional care and attention in the last three years that our dad resided there.
Serving as pallbearers were Edward Montana, Jesse Garcia, Joe Rayos, Jesse Reyes, Jr., Tommy Frizell and Joe I. Roland.
