NOTICE OF

PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Lockhart Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, August 29, 2011, at 6:30 P.M. in the lower level of City Hall, 308 West San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas, to receive public input regarding the following:

ZV-11-02.  A request by Martin Benavides f

or a Variance to Appendix I of Chapter 64 “Zoning”, Lockhart Code of Ordinances, to allow a reduction in the minimum required side building setback from 15 feet to 6 feet 9 inches for a proposed two bedroom and one bathroom addition to an existing home on 0.161-acre consisting of a part of Lot 10, all of Lots 11, 12 and a portion of a vacated alley known as Garcia Alley, in Block 3, Compress Hill Addition, zoned RMD Residential Medium Density and located at 512 Laredo Street.

All interested persons owning property within 200 feet of this property who wish to state their support or opposition may do so at this Public Hearing, or they may submit a written statement to the City Planner for presentation to the Zoning Board of Adjustment at or before the time the public hearing begins.

Should any person be aggrieved by the Board’s decision, a written petition for appeal stating that the decision of the Board is illegal in whole or in part and specifying the grounds of the illegality, may be presented to a court of record within ten calendar days after the minutes of the meeting are approved by Board.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Separate sealed Bids for the County Line Special Utility District”s Recoating of Exterior of the Woodlands Elevated Water Reservoir will be received by and at the SUD office, 131 S. Camino Real, Uhland, Texas 78640-4909 until 5:00 PM, on the 19 day of September, 2011 and then opened at 10:00 AM on September 22,2011 at the SUD office.

Project consists of the following:

Preparation of existing coating to receive a primer and paint recoating of exterior of water tank including the entire exterior. To include tank, support columns, walkways and brace work. The lettering on the tank shall be removed and a separate bid made to replace the lettering.

The Information for Bidders, Bid, Bid Bond, Contract, Plans, Specifications, Performance and Payment Bonds and the Contract Documents may be examined at the office of County Line SUD. These documents can be emailed by contacting the office at 512-398-4748 or email requesttosusan@clws.com

A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety registered with the U.S. Treasury shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check payable to the County Line Special Utility District may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.

County Line Special Utility District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in the bidding.

Bids may be held by the County Line Special Utility District for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder”s qualifications prior to the contract award.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed proposals addressed to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Lockhart will be received at the Lockhart City Hall, 308 West San Antonio, Lockhart, Texas 78644, until 11:00 A.M., August 31, 2011 for the 2011 Street Improvements Project, at which time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Any bid received after closing time will be returned unopened.

The project consists of approximately 4100 LF of curb and gutter, 1500 SY of Type B Black Base and 13000 SY of 1? and 2 inch HMAC on various City Streets.

Bidders shall submit with their bids a Cashier”s Check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum total bid, payable to the City of Lockhart, Texas without recourse, or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from an approved Surety Company as a guarantee that Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds on the forms provided, within ten (10) days after the award of Contract.  Bids without check or Proposal Bond will not be considered.

The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payments Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner.

Proposal forms, plans, and specifications may be obtained from TRC Engineers, Inc., 505 East Huntland Drive, Suite 250, Austin, Texas 78752, (512) 454-8716, upon receipt of payment of Seventy-five ($50.00) Dollars.  Please make checks or money-orders, payable to TRC Engineers, Inc.  PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE.

The City Council of the City of Lockhart reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities.  No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date on which bids are received.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS OF PROPOSED CALDWELL COUNTY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT

Sealed bid proposals for exterior masonry and wood window repair of the Historic Caldwell County Jail (315 E. Market, Lockhart, TX) will be received by Caldwell County until 2 PM, August 31, 2011, in the Office of the Caldwell County Judge at 110 S. Main, Lockhart, TX. Bids will be opened at 2:30 PM on August 31, 2011, in the Courthouse, Room 100.

Plans and specifications are available for inspection at the Office of the Caldwell County Judge. Bidders may obtain a set of Bidding Documents from the County by contacting Marie Cavanagh at 512-398-1809 or by email at: marie.cavanagh@co.caldwell.tx.us.
