Reginald Skaggs passed away in his home in Dale, Texas on Aug. 21, 2015 at age 79. He was born in Lockhart, Texas on Sept. 30, 1935. He grew up in Lockhart and Martindale where he graduated high school in 1955.
He was inducted in the US Army in 1958 and served in the infantry primarily at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
He worked for Superior Dairies in Austin prior to being drafted a

nd returned to work there after his discharge. He retired from Superior Dairies in 1997.
Bubba always had a great love of animals and fishing was one of his favorite pastimes.  He was particularly proud of a 43-pound yellow catfish he caught on one of his fishing trips to Lake Travis.
He was preceded in death by his parents Garland and Gladys Skaggs; and his sister, Lillian Trester.
He is survived by his brother, Raleigh Ross Skaggs and wife, Laurell; four nephews and a niece: Alan Widmer, Dennis Trester, Raleigh Skaggs, Jr., Celeste Dunham and Tony Skaggs; nine great-nieces and nephews and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
Family planned to receive friends at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart with services following at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
