Sylvia M. “Jackie” Moffett, 93 passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016. Sylvia was born May 16, 1923, to George and Annie McMullen in Caldwell County, Texas.
She is preceded by her husband of 63 years, James H. Moffett; daughter, Shirlean Petty; son-in-law, Gene Petty; and grandson Jason Moffett.
Sylvia is survived by her son, James D. Moffett and wife, Barbara; seven gra
ndchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.
A limb has fallen from our family tree. But we keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, and the laughter, remember the good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. My mind is at ease…my soul is at rest. Remembering it all, I was truly blessed. Continue the traditions, no matter how small. I will miss you dearly, so keep up your chin, until the day comes when we’re together again.”
Viewing was held on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 from 3 – 5 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, Lockhart, Texas. Services were Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at 10 a.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Schlimgen officiating. Graveside service followed at Pettytown Cemetery in Red Rock.
