The Caldwell County chapter of the University of Texas Exes has awarded three $1,000 academic scholarships and tuition to Camp Texas this summer. The recipients are Erick Barrientos, Amryss Flores and Jessica Langford of Lockhart High School.

Barrientos participated in many activities including student council president. He competed at the regional level in U.I.L Academics and was vice-president of the National Honor Society. He also volunteered with Vaccine Action and blood drives on the campus. Away from school, he worked at a local grocery store after school and on weekends.

Flores was active in student council serving as president and secretary. A member of National Honor Society, she was also team captain of the cross country girls. After school, she held jobs with several restaurants in the community.

Langford participated in JROTC and served as Deputy Commander. She was HOSA president and served as vice president of the choir. After school, she worked at Schlitterbahn Waterparks, volunteered hours at a local Veterinary clinic and participated in many after school volunteer duties with JROTC.

The Caldwell County Texas Exes are proud to award these scholarships to three very deserving Lockhart High School graduates.
