Varsity Lady Lions defeat Clemens, fall to Lady Rebels

The Lady Lions Varsity team played against the Lady Buffalos at Clemens and won on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Lockhart beat Clemens 14-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-10.
“It was a great win on the road and a very decisive fourth game,” Head Volleyball Coach Melinda Kirst said.
Kills in the game came from Kelly Witte with 11, Cecily

a Smith, Camille Burrhus-Clay and Jenee Burrhus-Clay each had four and Natalie Raemsch had three kills.
Jessica Guerra made 21 assists and Witte made 20. Brianna Hinnenkamp had 13 digs while Ashley Moore had four.
The Lockhart Lady Lions teams played against the Hays Lady Rebels at the Lion’s Den on Friday, Sept. 28. The Varsity Lady Lions lost 25-18, 25-17 and 25-15. The Junior Varsity Lady Lions team won 25-18 and 25-18. The Freshman Maroon team beat Hays in three games. The Freshman White team also won against Hays.
The Varsity Lady Lions district record is 2-6 and 16-14 after the Hays game.
The Junior Varsity volleyball team traveled to Lexington High School on Saturday, Sept. 29. Eight teams entered the tournament and the JV Lady Lions did not lose one game in any of their matches to win first place.
The Lady Lions play away this week. They faced the Lady Unicorns on Tuesday, Oct. 2 and will play against Canyon on Friday, Oct 5.
