Varsity softball suffers another loss


Lady Lions vs. Elgin
The Lady Lion varsity softball team met the Elgin Lady Wildcats on the field Friday evening, March 31, for a disappointing loss, 6-1, against their district opponents.
Lockhart”s lone run was score by Noelle Marquina in the fourth inning. Marquina”s single hit was followed by Zaida Hager”s single. Janie Juarez earned the RBI for the Lady Li

ons by bringing in Marquina.
The Lady Wildcats” six runs were scored on nine hits. The Lady Lions” defense weakened at the end of the game by allowing two runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh.
With the loss served by Elgin, the Lady Lions have a district record of 2-6.
Lockhart”s next home will be against Del Valle on Friday, April 7, with games starting at 5:30 and 7 p.m.

Lady Lions vs. Navarro
The Lady Lion varsity softball team hosted Navarro on Wednesday, March 29, after their game on Tuesday was cancelled due to weather conditions.
It was a close-scoring game for the non-district competitors, but Lockhart pulled out a 5-4 win to add to their record.
Navarro made four runs on two hits with two errors on the field.
Lockhart scored their five runs on 10 hits and completed two errors on the field.
Lady Lion pitcher Megan Davilla picked up the win for Lockhart.
