Virginia Louise Burditt

Virginia Louise Bost Burditt passed away on Aug. 30, 2009. She was born in Victoria County on June 25, 1917, to Johnathon Edward Bost and Ola Edward Henry Bost. Louise was the oldest of eight children. She was joined in marriage to Hollie Dale Burditt on Feb. 20, 1937. Dale and Louise had two daughters.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ola Bost;

her husband, Dale Burditt; her sister, Catherine Moore; brothers, J.D. Bost and Leland Bost; and son-in-law Melvin Reed.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara Reed; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Buddy DuBoise; sisters, Irene Whelan and Mary Niccum; brothers, A.T. Bost and Ellis Bost; and sisters-in-law, Magdalyn Bost and Eloise Wheeler. Also surviving are grandchildren: Melynda (Reed) Cheatham and husband, Michael, Cynthia Lei Reed, Okie DuBoise and fiancée, Tyree Robinson, and Hollie (DuBoise) Louk and husband, Trey. Other survivors include ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Louise was retired from the State of Texas Comptroller’s Department, where she was employed for many years as an accountant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Services were held at McCurdy Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, with Rev. Gary Rodgers officiating. Interment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
