Williams signs basketball scholarship with Tarleton

SueRe”esa Williams signed her national letter of intent to play college basketball on Wednesday, April 13.
Williams will be attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Her career began at Austin Anderson H.S. where as a freshman she made the varsity girls basketball team.
Williams arrived at Lockhart at the end of that year and began to make an im

pact from the first day.
“Sue is such a great kid,” Head Basketball Coach David Johnston said. “She is very humble in her abilities, and has always known that she wanted to play at the next level.”
Some of Williams accomplishments include being a three year starter for the Lady Lions, Team Captain for two years, made 2nd Team All-District for 02-03, made 1st Team All-District for 03-04, named All-Centex Team Honorable Mention for 03-04, named District 26-4A Offensive M.V.P for 04-05, and 4A/5A T.G.C.A. (Texas Girls Coaches Association) All-Star Team.
“Sue always put the team first and did everything she could to try and help her team make the playoffs,” Johnston said. “Sue has been a big part of our program for the last three years. She will really be missed. Sue will have a fantastic career at Tarleton, and we wish her the best.”
