Woodrow “Woody” Haley, 88, of Lockhart, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006, at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
Woody was born on March 8, 1918, in Rosanky, Texas, to John Thomas and Ella (Smith) Haley. He worked as a construction superintendent for many years. He was a member of the local Chapter 84 of the Iron Workers of America. He was also a member of the First Uni

ted Methodist Church of Lockhart.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Wesley Ray Haley; his brothers, Clifton and George William; and three sisters, Evelyn Staton, Billie Louise Hawkins and Ruth Uhlig.
He is survived by his wife, Janet of Lockhart; his daughter, Billie Ann Chometa and husband Ed of Terrell; three sisters, Ruby Voigt and Betty June Ehrlich, both of Lockhart, and Oleta Giles of Austin; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2006, at McCurdy Memorial Chapel with Rev. George Goodman officiating. Interment followed in Smith Cemetery in Bastrop County.
