William Andreas Germer

William “Zoom” Andreas Germer entered into eternal rest Aug. 9, 2006 at the age of 80. He was born on the family farm in Maxwell, Texas on Aug. 24, 1925 to William Frederick and Hilda Germer. In 1943 he joined the US Army and served as a Diesel Engine Mechanic, received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon, Good conduct medal, and three overseas service bars prior to his hono

rable discharge March 15, 1946.
Upon returning to civilian life, he returned to the Maxwell area and became a successful businessman, opening and operating OST Restaurant for over 25 years. In 1973 he and his wife began a new business adventure, opening and operating B&H Mobile Homes until their retirement in 1987.
Bill”s friends and family will always cherish the memories of his never-ending enthusiasm and passion for so many things in life, such as hunting, making sausage, fishing, gardening, driving, playing cards, raising deer and German shepherds, and then sharing these fruits of his labor with his friends and loved ones.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Frederick and Hilda Germer, his wife of 43 years, Hannilore Myers Germer, and his son Michael Myers.
He is survived by his brother Leonard Germer and two sisters, Gladys Niemann and Dickie Rutherford. He is also survived by his children, Russell W. Germer, Nancy Smith, Glen F. Germer, George E. Myers, Katie Laine, Barbara Tarpley, Joe Myers, Eric C. Myers and Julie Veidt, 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Visitation is scheduled with the family at Pennington Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. Services will be held at 3 p.m. at Pennington Funeral Home followed by interment at San Marcos City Cemetery.
