Vivian E. Wilhite
Vivian E. Wilhite, 93, lifetime resident of Creedmoor, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 23, 2016. She was born in Elroy, Texas on July 2, 1922, and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey L. Wilhite; sister, Evelyn Kite and brother, Roland Burklund.
Vivian is survived by her son, Richard Wilhite and wife, Lucile (Sam); daughter, Sue Schmidt and husba
nd, Bobby; daughter, Cindy Gilley and Richard Saldana; five grandchildren: Russell Wilhite and wife, Mary, Alan Gilley and wife, Rachel, Scott Wilhite and wife, Vicki, Shelley Nelson and husband, Michael, and Sonny Schmidt and wife, Wendy. She was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Sonora, Kaila, Ryan, Madison, Stephen, Taylor, Cash, Addison, Bryn, Piper and Caymie; and one great-great-grandson, Bradley; in addition to countless friends, nieces and nephews.
She was known as “Granny” to everyone and always had a ready smile. Her family was her life and she was always there to help and give encouragement. She was a woman of great faith and her church family was very important to her. Granny will be dearly missed by her loved ones but celebrate the fact that she is at home with her heavenly father.
Baking was a favorite pastime of Granny’s. Everyone loved her coconut-oatmeal cookies and her homemade brown bread and hot rolls were second to none.
Funeral service was held on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
The family would like to express their deep love and appreciation to her caregiver and wonderful friend, Mary Lou Juarez, for the extraordinary care and concern and love she gave to Granny and to our family. She is truly an angel. Many thanks also to Sylvia Ojeda, Sodalis Memory Care in Buda, and Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
