Lillian Bock Fox died on May 11 at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Lockhart
following surgery for a fractured hip and shoulder. Lillian was born in Lockhart on Jan. 19, 1918 and was one of six living children of Harvey Louis and Maggie Mae Hager Bock. Except for two years in Refugio, where she graduated from High School, she was a lifetime resident of Lockhart and Cald

well County.
Lillian married Edward E. “Dick” Fox on Oct. 18, 1937 and they were married for over 42 years until Dick”s death in 1980. She will be remembered as a strong and independent woman, for her care of her husband during his final illness, as a devoted mother and grandmother and for her constancy, steadfastness and spirit of generosity.
Lillian is survived by a son Dick D. Fox and wife Jeannie of Lockhart; a daughter Toni and husband Dr. Paul Burns of Austin; a niece and adopted daughter Kay Bock Royen and husband John of Folsom, La., grandsons Michael E. Fox of Los Angeles, Calif. and Stephen E. Fox and wife Lori of Cumming, Ga.; and granddaughter Robin Fox of Galveston. She is also survived by her loving sister, Bettye Bock Johnson of Lockhart. Lillian was mostly confined at home for the past two years. Rain or shine, her sister Bettye visited her at least twice a day.
Lillian was a treasured friend to many in Lockhart. She loved arts and crafts of all kinds and was an expert seamstress and quilt maker, owning many blue ribbons from local competitions. For many years, she worked with the Hospital Auxiliary as member and president and logged over 10,000 volunteer hours. She was also an active member of the Fireman”s Auxiliary and a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program for many years.
Lillian was baptized in the First Christian Church in Lockhart and was a lifetime member. Her last outside activity was to attend Church on Sundays. She liked to get there at least an hour early to visit with members, especially the children.
Funeral services were held on May 14, 2007 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Randy Frye officiating. Interment followed in the Lockhart City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Mike Hagan, Clint Mohle, Larry Patton, Carl Patton, Wayne Bock and Alan Fielder.
