SCHOOL DISTRICT: Police investigating “stranger-danger” report
LPR Staff Report
The Lockhart Police Department and Lockhart Independent School District are investigating a student’s report that two strange men in a pickup on Friday morning told him to “come here” while he was walking along Bois D’Arc, officials with the school district said.
The boy, a secondary student at the Lockhart Disciplinary Management Center, said the men spoke to him from a small, light blue single cab pickup with rust on it n Friday morning, the district said. The boy did not get into the vehicle and reported it to his mother, who notified the police. The police escorted the student to school, notified administration, and are investigating the incident, according to reports.
The student identified the driver of the truck as an older Hispanic male with short dark hair and a white beard. The truck’s passenger was younger, clean shaven and had short hair, according to reports.
“We are sharing this with all of our parents to keep you aware,” wrote LISD Superintendent Susan Bohn in an email to all parents and guardians in the district. “This is also an opportunity to review stranger danger with your children.
“We are grateful to the Lockhart Police Department for their assistance in this matter and for helping to keep all of our Lions safe. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at susan.bohn@lockhart.txed.net.”
