Ownership group grabs auction barn by the horns

Under new ownership since Feb. 1, it’s business as usual at Lockhart Auction Inc., where livestock auctions still take place every Thursday.
The facility, which has stood at 2601 US 183 South for decades, is now under the ownership of Madi Bexley, Bubba Bennight and Jimmy Schwertner.
“We market cattle for customers,” said Bexley. “That’s the best way to put it. We sell it on consignment for ranchers.
“We’ve got to work to make both sides happy.”
