Donna Kay Buchanan

Donna Kay Buchanan of Dale, TX passed away on January 12th, 2019 at the age of 70. She was born in Austin, TX to Bill Moore and Margaret Maurine Moore.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Jack Buchanan; her father, Bill Moore and sister, Susan Moore. She is survived by her 3 children, Scott Buchanan (Maria), Karen Harnishfeger (Victor) and Jeff Buchanan (Jennifer); 12 grandchildren: Zac Buchanan (Jordana), Quentin Baros. Megan Baros, Isiah Chavez (Shelby), Anthony Chavez, Logan Buchanan (Amber), Katie Buchanan, Brandon Harnishfeger and Matthew Harishfeger; 3 great grandchildren: Adelyn Buchanan, Nolan Chavez and Emery Chavez; her mother, Maurine; sisters, Debbie Kelley and Margaret Bertelson and brother, Pat Moore.
Donna started out as a stay at home mom, caring for her 3 children. She went to work for Texas Rehabilitation Commision and retired from there after almost 30 years. She spent most of her retirement making quilts for family and friends and spending time with her family. Her quilts were very sought after family items and loved by all who received one.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday January 16th at 10 am at the Bunton Cemetery in Dale, TX. Pallbearers were her beloved grandsons, Zachary Buchanan, Isaih Chavez, Logan Buchanan, Anthony Chavez, Brandon Harnishfeger, Quentin Baros and Matthew Harnishfeger. Arrangements were under the care and guidance of McCurdy Funeral Home.
