Lion linksters wrap up district tournament

The 2024 Boys and Girls Golf District Championship was played last week at Avery Ranch Golf Club in Austin.
The Lockhart High School boys played Monday and Tuesday. The girls closed things out on Wednesday and Thursday.
Leading the scoring for the Lockhart boys were Chris Collins (89-76) and Andres Osuna (80-85). They finished tied for 14th and they each earned Second Team All-District Honors.
Rounding out the Lions were Jayse Contreras (107-101) in 44th, and Carter Jones (116-121) in 48th.
As a team, the Lockhart boys finished 9th with a 2-day Team Total of 775 (392-383).
Leander Rouse’s Taylor Cussimanio fired a 73-73 146 to win the tournament by seven strokes.
The Lockhart girls played Wednesday and Thursday. The girls were led in scoring by Alejandra Osuna (102-105). Osuna finished 17th, earning her a spot on the Second Team All-District. She was followed by Anissa Capetillo (116-104) in 22nd, Zoie Ledesma (122-119) in 26th, Karlee Scott (128-127) in 30th, and MacKinzie Mayfield (132-131) in 32nd.
As a team, the Lockhart girls had a 2-day total of 923 (483-490).
Delaney McGurren of Buda Hays won the girls’ tourney with an 78-77 155, seven strokes better than the runner-up.
