An incredible program, The Secret to Long Lasting Life event was presented Saturday by Immune Boosters and Where We Thrive, Inc. at Gaslight-Baker Theatre.

The program was emceed by our Caldwell County Commissioner Daryl Thomas. The evening included the movie “They’re Trying to Kill Us,” produced by Chris Paul and Billie Eilish, with John Lewis as director and star.

Rebecca Allen of Immune Boosters opened with the excitement of having the film screened in Lockhart.

One participant said, “I enjoyed meeting people that care about eating better to heal our bodies and feel better. We have to choose a life of feeling sick or a life of feeling better and living longer. I made new friends and enjoyed the music and dancing after the movie.”

The movie can be viewed by visiting www.theyretryingtokillus.com.

After the movie, optometrist Dr. Barbara Coldiron told those at the event about macular degeneration of the eye and that in her career she’s not seen a vegan with that disease. She noted whole plant-based diets are good for the eyes.

The speaker, Renee King-Sonnen of The Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, inspired the audience with her story of empathy and healthy living. She motivated the audience to get real with their health and give up their addictions. King-Sonnen brought two guests to the show, Christspiracy’s movie director and star, Kameron Waters, and Vegan Influencer, Jamie Logan.

The (L.B.M.) Little Billy Cumming Band was fabulous. We danced and then got Renee on stage and belted out some classics with Billy, and later, our commissioner sang too. Though the audience at  the GasLight-Baker Theatre was small, it was filled with joy.
