Lady Lions strong in district

The Lady Lions traveled to Cedar Park to play Vista Ridge in their second district game on Sept. 14.
The varsity team stepped on the court ready to play.
Vista Ridge was lead by a strong middle hitter. When the Lady Lions got their hands on several of her hits, either blocking them back or slowing them down and to play them out, she got frustrated.

Lady Lions served aggressively and played a great match. They defeated Vista Ridge in three games 25-14, 25-20 and 25-22 to bring the district record to 2-0.
Lindsay Wilson served off eight points in the first game before the Lady Lions capitalized on an VR error. In the third game, Sarah Moore reeled off eight points to lead us to victory.
The game”s leaders included Kelly Witte with five kills, nine digs, three blocks and an ace, Sarah Moore with five kills, six digs, two blocks and an ace, Krystal Schulle with 24 assists and nine digs, Krystal Laws with nine digs and an ace, Alyssa Mitchell with eight kills and two blocks, Ashley Johnson with six kills and Venoris Carter with seven blocks.
On Friday, the Lady Lions faced Del Valle at home.
Working on continuing a perfect district record, the Lady Lions defeated the Lady Cardinals in three straight, scoring 25-16, 25-17 and 27-25.
This match was a total team effort. Everyone contributed. Del Valle kept picking up everything Lockhart hit at them, but the Lady Lions never gave up.
Leaders were Sarah Moore with 14 kills and two aces, Krystal Laws with seven kills, Ashley Johnson with five kills, Kelly Witte with five kills, nine digs and three blocks, Krystal Schulle wit 33 assists, 11 digs and five aces, Alyssa Mitchell with three kills and two blocks, and Venoris Carter with 14 digs
The Lady Lions will face Taylor at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
