Billy Wayne Garner
The Heavens opened up and received Billy Wayne Garner, 65, of Luling, on April 29, 2013.
Billy was born in Brady, Texas, on Sept. 21, 1947, to Steve Garner, Jr., and Janie Merle Mitchel Garner.
Billy is survived by a daughter, Tara Garner Harlow; brother, Kenny Garner and wife, Karen; and sister, Dana Garner Richter, all of Luling; sister, Loretta Garner Kelso and husband
, Jim, of Gonzales; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
He attended grade school and junior high school in Lockhart and high school in Luling. He played football and was a member of the National FFA Organization. Billy enlisted in the Army and served our nation in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He toured in Vietnam 1968-1969. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Air Medal.
He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and devoted canine, Cyrus.
A come-and-go celebration of life will be held at the Coffee Shop, downtown Luling on May 18, 2013, from noon – 4 p.m.
